Are you a cybersecurity professional with a passion for resilience and continuity planning? We’re seeking an experienced IT Continuity & Cyber Resilience Specialist to lead and uplift disaster recovery capabilities within a large federal government agency.
Your new role
This is a leadership role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, risk-based outcomes across a diverse technology environment. You’ll provide expert advice on disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and business continuity, while mentoring junior staff and engaging with key stakeholders.
- Design and implement enterprise-level ICT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
- Assess organisational risk and identify capability gaps in crisis management and infrastructure resilience.
- Integrate cyber security principles into contingency planning frameworks.
- Conduct tabletop exercises, testing, and post-incident reviews.
- Apply standards such as NIST 800-34, ISM, ISO 27001 / 22301.
- Implement cloud-based continuity solutions and align practices with enterprise risk frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity.
- Proven experience in Australian Government environments.
- Strong background in disaster recovery, continuity planning, and crisis management.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a minimum NV1 security clearance. Candidates without the required clearance will not be considered.
- Location: The successful candidate can be based in any of the state offices located in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, or VIC, and will be expected to deliver work onsite.
