Your new role
- Be responsible for managing the project management lifecycle, as part of the Small Projects Management Framework, including well-written, well-structured documentation
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Engage with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions, to support project schedule and budget
- Ensure ownership of projects, including stakeholder engagement, monthly KPIs and various internal reporting
- Actively participate in Field Leadership program
- Be responsible for a wide range of
- Upgrading/improving of mine site infrastructure, outside the processing plant, focusing on mechanical and electrical infrastructure
- Water fill points, pumping, diesel delivery, technology towers, switchboards, etc.
- Replacement of mine site infrastructure, out of the processing plant, to align to current/new standards
- Buildings, bathhouses, crib rooms, substations, etc.
- Procurement of accessories for mine site operations
- Small improvement projects throughout the mine site
- Assisting Project Managers on larger projects throughout the mine site
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a similar, complex, industrial environment with onsite exposure
- Bachelor’s degree or qualification in Engineering or tertiary-related discipline
- A high commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail and procedures
- Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units, functional areas, and external stakeholders
- Project Management experience, including project procurement
- Ability to problem solve effectively, work under pressure, and think strategically. For example, supporting various stakeholders with competing priorities, managing those relationships, expectations, and formulate appropriate action plans.
- Demonstrate effective writing skills in email, documentation, and presentation development, taking into consideration the target audience
- Demonstrate effective skills in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a role working in an open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin located near Moranbah, Central Queensland. You will be working 5:2 roster with FIFO/DIDO arrangements and flexible options for the right candidate. Hays will pay you on a weekly basis, and you will be paid an attractive hourly rate & super. Our position is commencing ASAP and is long term for the right candidate.
