Technical Sales Representative

A well-established, family-owned Australian business with over 13 years of consistent growth and profitability is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to support its national expansion. Specialising in water storage components, the company maintains a strong market presence and fosters a collaborative, supportive work environment with long-standing team members.

Your new role

This newly created position is designed to drive business development and enhance customer engagement. The successful candidate will identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and deliver tailored technical solutions across Australia. The role blends technical insight with strategic sales, focusing on engineered products and customer-centric service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and rural retail stores.
  • Identify and develop new markets and business opportunities nationwide.
  • Provide technical sales support and product recommendations.
  • Travel interstate approximately 4–5 times per year (1–2 weeks per trip).
  • Collaborate with internal teams on product development and customer needs.
  • Introduce new products and support product improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and follow-through.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and visualise engineered products; experience in water systems, pumps, or irrigation is ideal.
  • Sales Experience: Proven success in technical sales, preferably in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Customer-Focused: Strong interpersonal skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small business environment.
  • Industry Experience: Background in pump manufacturing, irrigation, or water pressure systems is a plus.
  • CAD/Design Interest: Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) or personal interest in 3D design/printing is desirable but not essential.
