Hays have partnered with a well-established mining organisation to appoint a Telecommunications Technician to an initial 3-month contract with a very high chance of extending or even going permanent.

Your new role

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for fibre optics, telephony systems, and network infrastructure? We’ve partnered with a mining organisation in Northern Queensland who are looking for a proactive and skilled Telecommunications & Network Technician to join them and play a key role in supporting and expanding their communications infrastructure across multiple sites.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Self-Motivated, flexible, and able to work alone, supervise contractors and apprentices
• A certificate of registration as a Registered Cabler with an approved Organisation, with endorsements for Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic Cabling
• High degree of skill in the installation and termination of fibre optic cabling, including breakdown experience
• Background in communication cabling installation in a commercial/industrial landscape
• High understanding of the AS S009 - customer cabling requirements
• Exceptional customer engagement skills
• An eagerness to continually learn and upgrade your skills and knowledge base
• A focus on safety and cost-saving initiatives
• To be a team player and have a proactive attitude

What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered an initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend within a great mining organisation based in Northern Queensland, where you will be compensated at an attractive daily rate dependent on experience.
