An established government agency is seeking an experienced FOI Manager to lead a dedicated team responsible for managing complex Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. This role sits within a division focused on community outcomes and safety, and is part of a strategic initiative to enhance FOI and privacy operations. You will oversee a team of seven, including FOI officers, administrative support, and audit staff. The role involves handling sensitive and high-profile FOI matters, including tribunal appearances, and providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in shaping team culture and driving performance in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll need to succeed
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of FOI legislation, tribunal processes, and regulatory reviews.
Experience in the public sector is highly desirable.
Legal qualifications are not required, but confidence and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Ability to manage sensitive and complex FOI matters with professionalism.
