EHS Officer

Seeking an experienced Environment, Health and Safety officer for a contract position needed for 8 weeks

Your new company

Established Environmental engineering firm established for over 30 years. Specialising in Water and Environmental construction and infrastructure projects, as well as construction of commercial facilities throughout Victoria.

Your new role

  • Implement and manage WHS systems aligned with risk-based sustainability practices across the construction project.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, promoting best practices on-site.

  • Support project delivery by integrating social procurement goals into construction workflows.

  • Collaborate with site teams to embed sustainable and socially responsible procurement strategies.

  • Monitor and report on EHS and social procurement performance, driving continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Safety & Compliance Management - Implement and maintain WHS systems using platforms like 1Breadcrumb and Procore.
    Ensure ongoing compliance with the WHS Management Plan and drive continuous improvement.

  • Reporting & Risk Analysis - Conduct monthly safety and environmental reporting, identifying trends and risks.
    Liaise with stakeholders to communicate strategy and ensure timely reporting.

  • Safety Culture & Contractor Support - Monitor subcontractor safety performance and provide support for non-conformances.
    Promote transparent communication and ensure proper PPE allocation and SWMS compliance.

  • Environmental Oversight - Support environmental objectives through inspections, audits, and stakeholder coordination.
    Maintain environmental records and ensure site actions align with the Environmental Management Plan.

  • Incident & Training Management - Investigate and report incidents within 24 hours, ensuring compliance with legislation.
    Deliver HSE inductions and maintain training matrices to ensure workforce competency.

  • Social Procurement & Leadership - Support implementation of Social Procurement Commitments in subcontractor agreements.
    Foster a collaborative, responsible culture aligned with company values and sustainability goals.
