Your new role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll collaborate with CommBank’s global engineering community to build and support cutting-edge business banking functionality. You’ll design and maintain secure, resilient platforms using AWS services, implement CI/CD workflows, and contribute to AI engineering capabilities across the domain. This role includes a rotating on-call responsibility to ensure the seamless operation of systems and platforms.

What you'll need to succeed

• Drive strategic engineering goals and continuous improvement across systems and processes.
• Design secure, preformant architectures using AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Implement CI/CD workflows with tools like TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and GitHub Actions.
• Lead production support and troubleshooting, ensuring platforms meet SLAs.
• Mentor team members and contribute to AI solution implementation in a regulated industry.
• Maintain or obtain AWS certification in development, operations, or architecture.
• 5+ years’ experience in backend development (. Net, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• Strong AWS architecture and infrastructure-as-code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Experience in financial services and ITIL service management.
• Proficiency with logging and monitoring tools.
• Experience implementing GenAI solutions in regulated environments.
• AWS certifications in architecture, development, or DevOps.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Jupyter Notebooks).
• Experience with testing frameworks like Playwright.
