Hays Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced APS3 Systems Administration Officer to join a dynamic and passionate Federal Government department based in Townsville.
Your new role
This position plays a vital role in implementing and administering policies, procedures, and systems that support the legislative requirements of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain systems and processes to ensure the permission system is fair, transparent, and efficient.
- Collaborate on important projects, contributing ideas and support as needed.
- Understand and apply relevant laws and policies to check and process applications for activities.
- Provide basic customer service, including answering questions, solving simple issues, and communicating effectively with both colleagues and external contacts.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills while working in a team and be flexible in helping others achieve shared goals.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:
- Work collaboratively within the team to deliver results with personal drive and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Be a natural problem-solver, known for seeing things through.
- Experienced in relationship and stakeholder management.
- Proficient in database and system management with a commitment to accuracy and quality control.
- Thrive under pressure, with an eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Committed to ongoing professional development.
- Support the continual review and improvement of systems and processes for efficiency gains.
