Payroll Team Leader for a reputable, growing company in the Eastern suburbs

Based in the eastern suburbs, this company prides itself on its award-winning services across various sectors, tailored to the unique needs of each of their clients. They are seeking a payroll team leader on a 12m FTC, with a view to being made permanent.

Your new role

Leading a small team, you will:
  • Oversee the complete payroll function on a fortnightly basis, ensuring all processes are aligned with relevant Awards, legislation, contracts and internal policies.
  • Monitor performance of payroll team and develop strategies to ensure goals and objectives are being met; provide training opportunities where needed
  • Complete sign-offs of payrolls, manage enquiries and delegate them to team, run reports and prepare for audits and reconciliations
  • Manage monthly payments including superannuation contributions, payroll tax, and other statutory payments
  • Safeguard the reliability of payroll systems by implementing and monitoring internal controls that meet legal and procedural standards

What you'll need to succeed

For this role, you’ll need:
  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience, including superannuation and tax calculations and submissions
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in people management – must have leadership experience!
  • Experience using major payroll software
  • Experience with conducting payroll audits, reconciliation and various reporting
  • Ability to interpret Awards, EBAs, various policies and procedures
  • Ability to complete work to a high degree of detail and accuracy
  • Able to handle confidential data
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
