Your new role
Develop and maintain a rolling 3-week maintenance plan to ensure equipment availability and asset integrity.
Organise labour, parts, service kits, and tooling requirements for planned maintenance.
Review and manage asset defect backlog, prioritising tasks to maintain acceptable age and quantity.
Schedule and oversee Condition Monitoring workorders from CMMS (AMT), providing feedback post-inspection.
Align maintenance workload with labour capacity and operational needs, flag additional labour or third-party requirements.
Chair weekly planning meetings with stakeholders to review and confirm execution plans.
Ensure engagement and approval from Site Superintendents/Project Managers.
Review previous week’s plan completion using EOS reports, including outstanding statutory or CM tasks.
Lead daily maintenance planning meetings to assess past 24 hours and plan next 48 hours.
Report early failures and potential warranty issues to Central Asset Team; document in CMMS per process.
Close work orders and update component details in CMMS with high accuracy.
Collaborate with Execution team to manage breakdown events effectively.
For major component breakdowns, procure parts and plan repairs to minimise operational impact.
For short-term breakdowns, assess capacity and assist execution team as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
Background in maintenance planning in coal mining / mobile fleet
Trade Certificate – Mechanical / Diesel – highly desirable
Strong planning and scheduling skills using CMMS (e.g., AMT).
Solid understanding of mobile mining equipment and maintenance practices.
Experience in asset management and defect backlog control.
Ability to coordinate labour, parts, and tooling for planned maintenance.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across teams.
Capacity planning expertise to manage workload vs. labour availability.
Proactive approach to breakdown management and early failure reporting.
High attention to detail in work order closure and data accuracy.
Confidence in leading meetings (daily/weekly planning sessions).
Knowledge of warranty processes and condition monitoring.
Commitment to safety and operational efficiency in a mining environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and site conditions.
What you'll get in return
In return, you'll start ASAP at a busy coal mining site in the Bowen Basin, working a 9-day fortnight roster with drive-in/drive-out arrangements at the beginning and end of each swing. You'll receive a competitive hourly rate plus superannuation and black coal long service leave, with weekly pay. Camp accommodation and meals are fully provided near site.
