Hays is excited to be working with this Tasmanian-based company that has been operating within the construction industry for over 25 years. This company is responsible for the administration of the Construction Industry, providing portable entitlements for workers in the construction industry. They are currently seeking to employ a full-time Operations Officer to join the small and friendly team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing a high level of operational and administrative support and functions, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Administrative support in answering phone and email enquiries and educating stakeholders around rules, requirements and registrations.
- Accounts receivable in compliance with financial polices and procedures, including investigation of incorrect payments and management of overdue accounts.
- Support day-to-day operations to improve efficiency as well as assist in managing and coordinating internal projects and initiatives.
- Lodgement of employer returns in line with legislative requirements, accurately reviewing data and liaising with employers to ensure the correct information is provided within the required timeframes.
- Processing workers' long service leave entitlements, reviewing data to ensure reporting is accurate and calculation of correct payment amounts.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the role of Operations Officer, you will have a keen desire to deliver an outstanding client experience. You will be a critical thinker with strong attention to detail who is motivated to review, question and interrogate data.
- Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or at least 3 years equivalent work experience.
- High level computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced excel skills.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of databases, in particular CRM.
- High level communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to interpret legislation and to undertake administrative tasks within legislative requirements.
- An ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working within tight timeframes.
- Highly developed analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
