Business Project Manager – Telecommunications (EGW / Migration Focus)

Location: Sydney CBD
Work Type: Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)
FTC: Initial 6-month contract with opportunity to extend
An exciting opportunity for a skilled Business Project Manager with a strong background in telecommunications to lead high-impact migration projects within the Enterprise, Government & Wholesale (EGW) space.
This role is business-focused but will operate across a range of technical initiatives—particularly involving fixed voice and data network migrations. You will work closely with technical and business teams to ensure seamless transitions that prioritise customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of business-side migration projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer needs.
  • Ensure full adherence to governance frameworks using Prince2, PMBOK, or Waterfall methodologies, with clearly defined deliverables and success metrics.
  • Maintain all necessary project controls including schedules, risk and issue registers, status reports, and work orders—pre and post-transition.
  • Foster quality and communication governance from project initiation, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with technical, IT, and business teams to coordinate deliverables and manage dependencies.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues across multiple departments.
  • Work across the business to ensure all relevant risks and issues are addressed in line with business and customer goals.
  • Challenge the status quo and bring a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset to project execution.

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, delivering large-scale projects.
  • Accreditation in Prince2, PMBOK, or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of customer-facing impacts of technical migrations (voice, data, IP).
  • Experience working within or alongside Enterprise, Government & Wholesale (EGW) segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage governance frameworks and report on project success criteria throughout the lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills—confident working with senior leaders.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and drive outcomes.

Desirable:
  • Experience in legacy platform transitions or product migrations.
  • Background in both technical and business domains, with the ability to bridge the two.
  • Familiarity with fixed voice and data network environments.
