About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Power System Engineer to join the Grid team and support the successful development, connection, and compliance of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
You’ll play a key role in grid connection feasibility, technical documentation, and power system modelling across solar, wind, battery storage (BESS), and green hydrogen projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to Australia’s clean energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess grid connection feasibility and identify technical risks.
- Assist with grid connection applications and Generator Performance Standards (GPS).
- Carry out power system modelling (load flow, fault, dynamic studies) using industry-standard tools.
- Coordinate with external consultants and manage deliverables.
- Review technical documentation and single-line diagrams.
- Support commissioning and GPS compliance testing.
- Monitor compliance and performance of operating assets.
- Collaborate with teams across development, engineering, and operations.
About You
You’re a technically minded, proactive engineer with a passion for renewables and a desire to grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
- 2–5 years’ experience in power systems engineering, ideally in renewables or utilities.
- Familiarity with the National Electricity Rules (NER) and grid compliance processes.
- Experience with tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
- Understanding of GPS processes and AEMO/TNSP engagement (preferred).
- Programming skills in Python or similar (a bonus).
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and in a team.
