On behalf of our local client, Hays Accounting & Finance are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Officer to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, supporting compliance with relevant legislation, and providing exceptional service to our internal stakeholders.

Your new role

• Process end-to-end payroll on a regular cycle
• Maintain accurate employee records and respond to payroll queries
• Ensure compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory requirements
• Support month-end and year-end reporting
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure seamless operations

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in payroll processing software
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and awards
• High attention to detail and confidentiality
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
