This is a gold mining operation in New South Wales, featuring both open-pit and underground mining. Significant investment has extended its mine life, ensuring long-term production. The underground mine reached commercial production in 2024, with continued growth expected in the years ahead.
Your new role
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture across the site. Supporting both open-cut and underground mining operations, you’ll ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and provide hands-on safety leadership in the field.
Your key responsibilities:
- Leading risk assessments, incident investigations (including ICAMs), and internal audits.
- Coaching supervisors and workers to enhance safe work practices.
- Delivering effective safety training and supporting return-to-work programs.
- Managing safety performance reporting and analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
- At least 5 years’ experience in mining.
- Expertise in risk management, audits, ICAM investigations, and return-to-work coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, INX, and WHS documentation development.
- High-risk work licences are highly regarded.
