This company, operating in the commercial construction space, is a leading construction company in Tasmania, specialising in the design, development, and construction of high-quality projects right across the state. They are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team in either their north or south of the state office.
Your new role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Project Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from contract to completion. This role requires a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in construction management. They will also be responsible for but limited to the following:
- Client Communication: Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- People Management: Regular site visits to lead and manage a team of construction professionals, including subcontractors, engineers, and site supervisors
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Estimating and Tendering: Prepare cost plans in association with the Estimator and Project Administrator. Assist in preparing progress claims and invoices as required
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate, you will need to have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Diploma in Building and Construction, Business or Project Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- A current driving licence and white card
