Senior Project Manager - Platform Security and Enablement - Cloud

Location: Parramatta, NSW (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Rate: $1080 + Super per day
Contract Duration: 12 Months initial

Lead the Future of Cloud Platform Security in NSW Government

An exciting opportunity to drive high-impact, enterprise-scale cloud initiatives that will shape the digital infrastructure of a major government agency. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of modernising cloud platforms, enhancing service delivery, and enabling secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions that support essential public services.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and delivery expert who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about leveraging cloud technologies to solve real-world challenges. You’ll work with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners to bring cloud strategy to life—on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of cloud transformation projects, from planning and scoping through to execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Evaluate and implement cloud-based solutions that align with business needs and improve operational resilience.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between cloud strategy and project outcomes.
  • Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) to suit the nature of each initiative.
  • Manage project risks, budgets, timelines, and reporting in accordance with NSW Government standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices, particularly in cloud governance, security, and compliance.

About You

  • You are a highly experienced project leader with:
  • 10+ years of project management experience, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, migration, and integration projects.
  • Deep expertise in AWS and Azure, including services such as EC2, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and SQL Database.
  • A proven track record of delivering cloud capabilities and enhancing cloud hosting platforms in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks, ideally within the public sector.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or holding a Scrum certification is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and executive briefings.
  • A proactive, analytical, and collaborative approach to problem-solving in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Previous experience in NSW Government or similar public sector environments is preferred.
