We are seeking an experienced Cloud Lead/ Manager to lead the strategic procurement, optimisation, and management of cloud services across a multi-cloud environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring our cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and VMware are aligned with business objectives, secure, cost-effective, and scalable.
You’ll work closely with Cloud Architects, service consumers, and vendors to monitor usage, negotiate contracts, and drive continuous improvement in cloud service delivery.
Your new role
- Lead the procurement and contract management of cloud platforms and services.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring performance and compliance with SLAs.
- Monitor and optimise cloud service consumption to meet evolving agency needs.
- Ensure compliance with software asset management (SAM) and IT financial policies.
- Produce high-quality documentation including:
- Procurement and tender documents
- Contract schedules
- Risk plans
- Procurement procedures
- Transfer knowledge to departmental staff and maintain documentation in line with recordkeeping policies.
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and enterprise service management
- Deep knowledge of IT contracts, licensing, and cloud service terms
- Certificate IV or higher in Government Procurement and Contracting

- Service Level Management (Level 6): Ensure delivery excellence and cost-effective SLAs.
- Sourcing (Level 4): Shape procurement strategies and evaluate tenders.
- Supplier Management (Level 5): Monitor KPIs, resolve conflicts, and drive improvements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Deep expertise in multi-cloud environments, cybersecurity, and enterprise service management.
- Strong grasp of IT contracts, software licensing, and cloud service terms.
- Proven experience in technical procurement and contract negotiation.
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Government Procurement & Contracting.
- Contract Management (Level 5) – Oversee obligations, drive performance, and manage change.
- Service Level Management (Level 6) – Ensure delivery excellence and cost-effective SLAs.
- Sourcing (Level 4) – Shape procurement strategies and evaluate tenders.
- Supplier Management (Level 5) – Monitor KPIs, resolve conflicts, and drive improvements.
- Australian Citizenship and a minimum NV1 security clearance are required.
