Your new role
We are seeking a Senior Mine Site Accountant to join our passionate and high-performing team. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our site-based activities. You’ll work closely with operational leaders and corporate stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, cost control, and strategic insights that will shape the future of the project. This is a full-time permanent role on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster.
What you’ll do
- Lead all site-based accounting functions, including month-end and year-end processes.
- Deliver accurate financial statements, cost reports, and variance analyses.
- Monitor operational costs, capital expenditures, and inventory.
- Partner with site leadership to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Support audits and mentor the mine site accountant.
- Champion continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA preferred).
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the mining space.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and capital project accounting.
- Experience working with Xero as well as mid to small tier mine site accounting systems (e.g., Pronto lite, Pulse) is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and a sharp analytical mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
