Technical Lead / Solutions Architect

Rare contract opportunity for a skilled Technical Lead to work remotely from Australia on an exciting program!

Your new role

As the Technical Lead and Solutions Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise architecture. Your responsibilities will include defining technical specifications, leading the implementation of scalable solutions, and providing specialised technical direction. You will also oversee the integration of AI capabilities within the admissions platform, ensuring secure deployment and optimal performance. Additionally, you will establish testing frameworks, maintain architectural governance standards and provide clear and concise documentation. You will foster a collaborative environment, working closely with business analysts and technical delivery partners, both internal and external. You will establish agile delivery methods, lead sprint planning, backlog prioritisation and champion a culture of iterative and customer-focused delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and developing scalable solutions for complex organisations.

  • Experience providing technical direction to vendor groups.

  • Extensive knowledge of RESTful API development, data modelling, and mapping.

  • Proficiency in solutions architecture patterns, system integration, and AI solution design.

  • Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions in an enterprise context.

  • Familiarity with reporting and data visualisation tools, particularly PowerBI and Power Query.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills with the ability to lead virtual project teams in a matrix structure.

  • Proficiency in agile and hybrid delivery methods.

  • Prior experience in the Higher Education sector will be highly regarded.

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
