It is a retail company with over 100 years’ experience. They have an opening for a Demand Planner located at their head office in Western Sydney.
Your new role
The Demand Planner forecasts demand for retail products to ensure they can be available and delivered to customers. The goal of the position is to hit a balance between having sufficient inventory levels to meet customer needs, without having a surplus. The Demand Planner will ensure that these levels are consistently met in a cost-effective manner.
Analysing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to create accurate and reliable demand forecasts for products or services.
Develop and generate accurate demand forecasts for products or services using advanced forecasting techniques, statistical models, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Maintain optimal inventory levels by ensuring that stock levels are in line with SRI Budget requirements, projected demand, preventing stockouts and overstock situations.
Evaluate and account for demand variability due to factors such as promotions, product launches, economic trends, and external market influence.
Continuously monitor forecast accuracy and adjust models and processes as needed to improve the reliability of predictions.
Identify potential risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations and work on strategies to mitigate negative impacts and capitalise on positive trends.
Provide input to the supply planning organisation in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting, preferably in a similar industry or role.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting software/tools.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
Ability to interpret complex data and trends to make informed decisions.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle uncertainty and changing circumstances.
Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory management principles.
What you'll get in return
This is a permanent position, with a salary of $110,000 plus super, depending on experience.
