Your new role
As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and optimising maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency. Working an 8/6 swing, you will collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and site personnel to minimise downtime and maximise productivity in a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for heavy mobile and fixed plant machinery
Plan preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities
Ensure spare parts and resources are available to support maintenance tasks
Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement
Maintain accurate records and reports for compliance and efficiency
- Raise component change requests with supporting evidence gathered from departments on site
- Plan and resource equipment shutdowns, including creation of equipment bills of material, sourcing tooling, and sourcing specialist labour as required
- Track parts ordered from requisition raising through to delivery on site
- Create and revise Gantt charts using MS Project
- Support execution teams with scope variations as work is executed
- Maintain 3-month component/major equipment shutdown forecast
What you'll need to succeed
-5-10 years' mining or maintenance
-Demonstrated experience with various Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
-Direct experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance
-OEM Warranty experience
-Experienced user of SAP S4 HANA
-Excellent organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage fluctuating workloads and prioritise accordingly
-Highly developed communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal
-Ability to create, maintain and be able to “talk to” Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word
-Advanced stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships
-Previous experience using OEM parts systems with CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, Cummins
-Whilst not essential, holding a trade qualification – Heavy Diesel Mechanic and knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and processes would be regarded favourably.
-This role is suitable for both advanced heavy mobile Planners and Supervisors exposed to work management process seeking a change from the FIFO environment.
