Your new role

As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and optimising maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency. Working an 8/6 swing, you will collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and site personnel to minimise downtime and maximise productivity in a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for heavy mobile and fixed plant machinery
  • Plan preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities
  • Ensure spare parts and resources are available to support maintenance tasks
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for compliance and efficiency
    • Raise component change requests with supporting evidence gathered from departments on site
    • Plan and resource equipment shutdowns, including creation of equipment bills of material, sourcing tooling, and sourcing specialist labour as required
    • Track parts ordered from requisition raising through to delivery on site
    • Create and revise Gantt charts using MS Project
    • Support execution teams with scope variations as work is executed
    • Maintain 3-month component/major equipment shutdown forecast

What you'll need to succeed

-5-10 years' mining or maintenance
-Demonstrated experience with various Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
-Direct experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance
-OEM Warranty experience
-Experienced user of SAP S4 HANA
-Excellent organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage fluctuating workloads and prioritise accordingly
-Highly developed communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal
-Ability to create, maintain and be able to “talk to” Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word
-Advanced stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships
-Previous experience using OEM parts systems with CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, Cummins
-Whilst not essential, holding a trade qualification – Heavy Diesel Mechanic and knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and processes would be regarded favourably.
-This role is suitable for both advanced heavy mobile Planners and Supervisors exposed to work management process seeking a change from the FIFO environment.
