Your new role
For this role, we are seeking a fully qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the team in Townsville. The ideal candidate will operate tools and machinery in the workshop, ensuring safe and precise operation at all times. This role requires a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities
• Operate milling and drilling machines, surface and bench grinders, and general hand tools (electric & pneumatic).
•Dismantle and clean parts, grit, garnet, and sponge blast components.
• Rebuild components with Belzona and apply Belzona coatings.
• Assemble pumps and equipment, maintain in-house equipment, and operate welding equipment (mig & arc).
• Train and direct contractors, ensuring compliance with the company's OHS policy.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment

What you'll need to succeed
• Fully qualified Fitter
• Forklift licence
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Results orientated
• Highly motivated to achieve goals
• Ability to multitask and problem solve in a dynamic environment.

This role is a physically demanding position and does include manual handling duties.

In return, our client can offer a permanent position in Townsville, at $45 per hour + over time + superannuation. As this role is local to Townsville, you will return home every night, ensuring a healthy work - life balance.
