Your new role

This role will see you manage and develop a portfolio of motor clients for the brokerage, including winning new business and retaining existing clients. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and retain a portfolio of private motor insurance clients.
  • Develop new business opportunities both within and outside the portfolio through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
  • Provide tailored insurance advice and present recommendations to clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, including dealership business managers nationwide.
  • Coordinate policy renewals, including gathering underwriting information, negotiating terms, and preparing documentation.
  • Support clients through claims processes, ensuring timely and favourable outcomes while acting in their best interests.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and industry standards, including maintaining RG 146 compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and insurers to develop effective insurance solutions and contribute to team goals.
  • Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior staff, sharing knowledge and supporting professional development.
  • Stay informed on market trends, client industries, and emerging risks to provide informed advice and maintain service excellence.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • 2–3 years of proven experience dealing with domestic motor broking for a brokerage or insurer.
  • Ideally, broader knowledge of motor and home insurance, and knowledge of the insurance claims and underwriting process.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and sales, with an ability to build and maintain new business.
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with high-net-worth clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and also independently.
  • RG 146 Tier 2 insurance broking qualification (tier 1 preferable but not essential).
