Our client is currently seeking a motivated Mining or Civil Engineer to join our high-performing Clermont team onsite. Their site is an Open-Cut Operation and is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high-performance outcomes.
Your new role
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake project engineering activities associated with preparing and implementing mine closure plans in a safe, cost-effective and timely manner. Reporting to the Project Manager (Mine Closure), this role offers variety and invaluable learning opportunities that will enhance your skills and propel your career forward and position you as a leader in mine rehabilitation and closure.
Develop and implement short-to medium-term plans tailored to your career development aspirations and business needs. Responsibilities may include bulk push reshape design and optimisation, drainage and contour designs, surface water management, erosion modelling, scheduling, and drill and blast.
- Design and manage surface mining or civil earthworks, short-term scheduling, and quality control of rehabilitation activities
- Conduct site inspections, develop solutions and designs for site issues, monitor quality, and engage clients and stakeholders to innovate and improve site outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering with proven Open Cut mining experience
- Experience in bulk earthworks management and design
- Experience with Deswik is preferred, but training and development will be provided by our experienced team.
- Experience ranging from 1+, 5+, and 7+ years in mining or bulk civil earthworks
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, logical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a team focus
