Project Officer – Water Emergency Management (Melbourne | Paying circa $50/hr + Super)

Join a state government department supporting water emergency management within the Water and Catchments Group.

Your new role

Reporting to Senior Project Officer, Urban Water Security; you’ll:
  • Contribute to emergency response, policy development, and resilience programs related to climate change and risk management.
  • Support project delivery on environmental impacts, including blue-green algae, water disruptions, and dam safety incidents.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and correspondence on water emergency management.
  • Conduct research and analysis, establish program processes, and manage meetings, databases, and action tracking.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in the environment/water sector.
  • Strong project management and implementation skills.
  • Proven data analysis expertise to support informed decision-making.
  • Knowledge of government processes and ministerial functions (desirable).
