well-established State Government Department to appoint an experienced Solution
Architect to a contract until 30 June 2026 with potential extension.
Your new role
The Solution Architect is responsible for leading the design of ICT enabling technologies as well as leading tactical redesigns of ICT system upgrades/enhancements (e.g. from on-premise to cloud solutions), and designing legacy system wrappers to leverage the enabling technologies (e.g. APIs) and prepare implementation of new enterprise solutions. Solutions being refactored, developed or procured are used by the client to deliver services internally and to other external stakeholders and customers using a combination of on-premise and cloud technologies with the client's D365 subscription (Dynamics 365 CE, PowerApps, Power Automate). Cloud DevSecOps, Application Integration Patterns and contemporary IT capabilities/services are critical to the success of this role; and the program overall.
The Solution Architect will guide the work of Senior Software Developers, Software Developers and service providers whilst also ensuring alignment to the client's Enterprise Architecture through maintaining a close relationship with the Design Authority and working directly with the Program’s Security Specialist. The Solution Architect will be joining an environment where they will work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts and DevSecOps Engineers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:
- Assess current state landscape and support the preparation of architectural roadmaps/blueprints to uplift technical architecture enablers in line with functional feature delivery
- Establish high-level solution intent statements with solution models that provide a visual representation of how all components and sub-components interact together in the future state; leveraging the new enabling technologies in line with the architectural roadmaps/blueprints
- Design solutions using the Power Platform stack (Dynamics 365, model driven apps, canvas apps, Power Automate, Power Apps portals, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, Dataverse) in-line with enterprise standards to meet business client needs.
- Support all project phases, from defining new solution architectures, proposing innovative solutions using Power Platform tools to meet business needs through to developing and socialising Solution Designs/Blueprints.
- Optimise the platform as its adoption increases and new capabilities are made available; ensuring reuse is considered at initial inception design and when new solutions are being designed for the platform.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in attaining this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in a complex delivery environment
- Proven experience designing solutions for the Power Platform stack (Dynamics 365, model driven apps, canvas apps, Power Automate, Power Apps portals, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, Dataverse).
- Experience producing Diagrams covering the conceptual, logical, physical, sequence and context views of a solution.
- Hands-on experience with software development in an Agile environment
- Understanding of strategic IT solutions for online and API integration platforms
