Your new Local Council
Hays is partnering with a respected and well-established Local Council, seeking an experienced Senior Traffic & Transport Engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and resolving a variety of traffic and transport challenges, including parking, sustainable transport, and road safety concerns. You’ll collaborate with a range of stakeholders, from residents and local businesses to government bodies and internal teams to deliver efficient and community-focused transport solutions.

Your new role
Working as a Senior Traffic & Transport Engineer, you will be responsible for the following below:

• Investigate and respond to traffic, parking, and road safety issues in a timely and technically sound manner.
• Review and assess development applications and infrastructure projects for transport-related impacts.
• Assist with planning and delivering long-term capital works programs.
• Provide high-level service to internal and external stakeholders in line with organisational goals.

What you'll need to succeed

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience in traffic and transport engineering within a local government setting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to negotiate practical solutions.
• A proactive and community-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Experience in government or public sector environments will be highly regarded.
