Your new role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bookkeeping Manager to lead and develop a growing team.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, drive improvements to systems and processes, review work for accuracy, and mentor and upskill team members.
You'll play a key role in building a high-performing team.

Leadership and Team Development:
Lead, mentor and manage a team of bookkeepers to deliver high-quality, timely services.
Foster a positive, collaborative environment focused on professional growth
Identify training needs and provide ongoing development and support

Systems and Process Optimisation:
Evaluate, implement and refine bookkeeping systems and workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy
Keep up to date with the latest technology and tools (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
Develop and document standardised processes to ensure consistency

Work Review and Quality Assurance:
Review bookkeeping work, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance

Client Relationship Management:
Act as a trusted advisor, maintain strong, professional client relationships, address client queries promptly and deliver training on bookkeeping systems as needed.
Collaborate closely with our accounting and tax teams to ensure seamless service delivery

Growth and Strategic Planning:
Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Contribute to strategies for expanding the department's capabilities and client base
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and enhancing client service offerings

What you'll need to succeed

Certificate in Bookkeeping/Accounting or equivalent
Advanced proficiency in Xero (essential), with strong MYOB and Quickbooks experience
Minimum 10 years experience in bookkeeping
Proven experience leading and managing teams.
Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
