Your new company
Our state government client, based in Perth, is seeking a driven Manager Financial Accounting to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible through to October 2025. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working a full-time government working week of 37.5 hours.
Your new role
As a Manager Financial Accounting, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivers financial accounting and reporting compliant with government policy, legislation, and standards, while implementing financial management initiatives.
- Provides expert advice on complex financial matters, including taxation and financial accounting practices.
- Oversees financial statements, annual reporting, and audits (both internal and external).
- Ensures the integrity of systems like the Chart of Accounts, insurance coverage, and risk management processes.
- Maximises the capability and integrity of financial management information systems
- Leads financial policy implementation, liaises and ensures compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Applies leadership principles, promotes diversity, equity, and workplace safety while demonstrating curiosity and adaptability
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work and lead within a team.
- Sound numerical and analytical skills.
- Willingness to undergo an international police check (if not an Australian Citizen)
- Strong background in finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in management or leadership roles.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, planning, and project management.
