Warehouse Store person

Our client provides warehousing services for utility products in the ACT.

Your new company

Your new company is a warehouse that provides logistics services for utility services in the ACT. They are a small, close-knit team with staff who have long tenure and are cross-trained across the different responsibilities in the warehouse to ensure consistent work output.

Your new role

In this role you would be:

  • Using a computer for updating inventory systems for dispatch and receiving
  • Physically moving products by hand or with lifting aids or another staff member for heavier items
  • Stock cycle counting daily
  • Pick and packing orders and putting away inventory
  • Operating the forklift when required
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and assisting with other warehouse duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

Our client is seeking someone with demonstrated experience in doing the above-outlined duties in a recent previous role. They are also seeking the right culture fit to fit in with their team to ensure a cohesive and collaborative workplace. You will also need:

  • A forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience
  • You may be required to undergo a functional fitness assessment including a drug and alcohol test as part of the onboarding process.
  • A reference check from your most recent warehousing-related role is also part of the onboarding process.

What you'll get in return

If successful for this position, you would work in a casual contract role as a Hays temporary employee. The hours expected for this position are a 38-hour week, working 8am - 4pm, but can have some slight variation pending business requirements. If a permanent vacancy becomes available directly with the organisation, you would have the opportunity to be considered for the vacancy and be in a good position to transfer to permanent. If the contract were to finish without you transferring to permanent your Hays consultant would continue to liaise with you to find you your next role.
