This is a permanent, full time opportunity that can be based in either Hobart or Launceston.
Your new role
As Industrial Officer, you will be responsible for conducting enterprise agreement negotiations and providing industrial relations advice. You will represent members in various tribunals and commissions, offering support and guidance on complex worksite issues. Additionally, you will collaborate with staff and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of relevant legislation in industrial relations and employment law, and the capacity to build knowledge in industrial relations and human resources. You will be able to research and develop briefing papers, and have experience in conducting enterprise agreement negotiations and individual member representations.
Advocacy skills in proceedings before industrial commissions and tribunals are essential, along with strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Well-developed drafting skills for industrial instruments, excellent time management and computer skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining high standards of documentation and reporting are also required.
