Facilities Coordinator

Seeking a high-performing Facilities Coordinator for a brand-new, state-of-the-art building

Hays is excited to be recruiting for a fantastic opportunity with a prominent Directorate within ACT Government. Renowned for their impactful presence in the Canberra market, this directorate provides a practical, hands-on approach to education, helping students gain skills and experience required in the workforce.

They are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Coordinator to join the team, reporting to the Facilities Manager in managing a brand-new, state-of-the-art building.

Your new role

  • Oversee the administration of building systems, including access control, locker management and other systems

  • Support building management services alongside the Facilities Manager and BMS Officer.

  • Conduct regular inspections and use BMS reports to identify required work; engage service contractors as needed.

  • Coordinate and supervise trades personnel and contractors for daily operations to ensure safe and timely completion of tasks.

  • Contribute to building-related reports, dashboards, and procedural development for building systems.

  • Deliver front-of-house support and respond to customer service enquiries from staff and students.

  • Monitor facilities issues proactively to minimise risks and ensure safety for all visitors.

  • Act as a Fire Warden and assist in fire protection initiatives, including emergency procedures and drills.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as a facilities coordinator or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications in facilities management or building operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology and new systems to enhance operations and streamline processes.
