Your new role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Engineer with extensive integration experience to support the design, development, and integration of their innovative EV Charging and battery system products. As a subject-matter expert in all things EV and BESS, you will play a critical role in driving this business unit forward and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

The client offers a diverse range of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and EV Charging specifically designed for industrial and commercial applications. In this position, you will work closely with the engineering, leadership, and sales teams to ensure that products meet and exceed customer requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead technical solution design for grid-connected and off-grid BESS projects and EV charging projects
  • Develop concept-to-delivery designs, including single line diagrams (SLDs), load analysis, protection schemes, and control system specifications
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including scopes of work, functional specifications, installation guides, and commissioning plans
  • Support business development teams with technical pre-sales, customer consultations, site feasibility assessments, and tender submissions.
  • Ensure project compliance with Australian standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations, including integration with renewable energy (solar) and microgrid setups
  • Engage in vendor and client interactions to ensure solution alignment and manage technical delivery risk
  • Oversee project management activities related to system deployment – including contractor coordination, scheduling, cost control, and site supervision
  • Collaborate closely with the Product and R&D team on next-gen BESS and EV charging product improvements and field learnings.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (accredited by Engineers Australia).
  • RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) or RPEng
    Certification is essential.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering C&I scale BESS and/or EV charging projects.
  • Hands-on experience with project lifecycle management, including procurement, contractor management, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, PowerFactory, ETAP, or equivalent for electrical modelling.
  • Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS 5139, AS 4777, and relevant grid connection codes (e.g. NER compliance).
