Hays recruitment is currently partnering with a local government organisation in Darwin, Northern Territory to find a qualified and experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to join their marketing team. Your new role

The position collaborates across the organisation to deliver cost-effective and efficient communications, marketing, and engagement services to the organisation. It interprets high level strategy into priority communications campaigns, projects and programs and oversees the day-to-day output, management, evaluation and reporting of a professional team across the disciplines of marketing, communications, internal communications, and engagement. The role leads and builds organisational capacity in the application of engagement practices based on IAP2 (International Association Public Participation) principles and approaches to inform priorities and decision-making by the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilise proven methods to create marketing, communication, and engagement initiatives, involving campaigns, owned channels, and strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee intricate marketing campaigns and engagement programs for the organisation's strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of high-quality content and collateral tailored to specific stakeholder groups including culturally and linguistically diverse people.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing delivery of the organisation's internal communications plan.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing, communication, and engagement activities with legal requirements, best practices, and organisational policies.
  • Conduct authentic community engagement processes and associated activities utilising the International Association of Public Participation model (IAP2).
  • Provide guidance and advice to the organisation's teams and senior leaders on best practice approaches for community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist in creating intricate reports, policy advice, briefings, community education materials, and user-friendly program content.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor of Business in Marketing or Communication or equivalent experience / other qualification

  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in industry and a minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence

  • National Criminal History Check

  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card)
