Hays have partnered with a thriving federal government agency to appoint an EL1 Senior Project Manager to an initial 12-month contract, with a 12- month extension already approved. With an exciting pipeline of project work coming up, and project funding already approved, this is a fantastic and long-term opportunity to get stuck into leading up to EOFY.

Your new role

As the EL1 Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large, complex IT projects across applications and infrastructure, requiring a high level of project integration. Your day to day will be fast-paced and varied, however some of your core duties will involve:
  • Managing a team(s) of project members operating on complex IT projects in a multi-platform and multi-vendor environment
  • Defining project objectives, high-level scope, roles & responsibilities, and resource requirements
  • Stakeholder management across multiple teams, and understanding/negotiating and resolving very complex, difficult and/or sensitive issues that may arise within a project
  • Managing, tracking, and preparing project status reports on schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks/issues, dependencies, project change requests according to project plans

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Project Manager, with experience in delivering complex ICT projects within government or health-focused enterprise environments. You'll be adept at managing multiple teams, vendors, and other key stakeholders within complex environments, as well possess effective leadership and people management skills with strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

As this role is in federal government, you will require Australian citizenship to be considered.
