Hays are working with a well-known Tier 1 Federal Government client, who has an immediate requirement for a PKI Engineer at both the APS6 and EL1 level.
The Senior PKI Engineer holds a pivotal role within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) function, situated within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). This position is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions within an Azure and AWS Cloud environment. The Senior PKI Engineer collaborates closely with stakeholders to ensure that PKI solutions align with security standards, and compliance regulations.
Your new role
As the Senior PKI Engineer, core duties of the role will include:
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions, including certificate authorities (CAs), digital certificates, and cryptographic key management.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective PKI configurations.
Configure and manage PKI components, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and security best practices.
Optimise PKI solutions for scalability, performance, and security, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Develop and implement automations to streamline PKI operations and enhance security posture.
In order to be successful, you'll be required to meet the following criteria:
Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Extensive experience as a subject-matter expert with industry leading PKI products and platforms, such as Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), Entrust, GlobalSign, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
Experience in designing or implementing in a Cloud environment such as Azure or AWS.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage workload and priorities.
