This NSW State government organisation is seeking a Senior Legal Officer to join its team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
Your new role
The primary purpose of the Senior Legal Officer is to provide legal and policy advice and services to internal stakeholders to assist the organisation in meeting government obligations and to ensure compliance with the law. Reporting to the Director of Legal and working in a team of 8 other lawyers, your key accountabilities will include:
What you'll need to succeed
In addition to holding a current Australian practising certificate, you will ideally have previous experience working in the public sector as a Legal Officer. Alternatively, you will have experience gained in private practice or an in-house role within commercial law and contracts, procurement, privacy, employment law and/or statutory interpretation. You will also be an effective communicator with a flexible and proactive approach, and be able to respond appropriately when working through challenging situations. You will also be customer-focused and adept at planning and prioritising effectively in order to achieve key organisational outcomes.
