Payroll Officer

6-month temporary position with a trusted Tasmanian organisation, $50 an hour plus Super.

Your new company

Hays Office Support are currently seeking a Payroll Officer for a well-known Tasmanian organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join their team & assist with administrative requirements relating to payroll and financial services. The role will require full-time hours and will be offered as a temporary position for 6 months.

Your new role

Based in the Hobart CBD, our client is an organisation that focuses on providing essential services for Tasmania and building trust with colleagues and clients. As the Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with timely and accurate end-to-end preparation of fortnightly payroll, provide efficient responses to employee enquiries, and provide support to other payroll personnel.
You will provide administrative support in managing documentation, including maintaining payroll related procedures. If you are interested in a high-level administrative role and have experience in this field, this is the job for you!

What you'll need to succeed

To be the successful applicant you'll have demonstrated experience working in a payroll position. In addition, you will have;
  • Proven experience in high volume end-to-end payroll processing
  • Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel intermediate to advanced).
