Your new role

Reporting directly to a highly reputable General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a broad variety of legal matters to both the private equity and public equity sides of the business. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Corporate support (maintaining in-house precedents, monitoring legal and regulatory updates, adhoc commercial and corporate advice to the internal business, development and implementation of staff training)
• Private equity fundraising (assisting with the management of existing and development of new equity funds, assisting with preparing private placement memoranda for new funds, assisting with investor negotiations, assisting with fund level financing)
• Support for private equity transactions (negotiating confidentiality agreements, compliance in relation to foreign investment approvals for investments)
• Listed equities business support (support for procurement processes, market obligations, operational due diligence processes)
• Risk, compliance and ESG (assisting the compliance team from a legal perspective, supporting ESG reporting obligations)

What you'll need to succeed

• Admitted to practice as a Lawyer in Australia

• Ideally, a minimum of 4–6 years' PAE

• Extensive experience practising in fund management and/or corporate law (with exposure to financial services) gained at a reputable mid or top tier law firm

• Highly polished communication skills, both verbally and in written form

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
