Our client, based in the Southeastern Suburbs, is currently seeking an experienced Interior Designer to assist in the design and delivery of a variety of residential projects with high-end residential and custom home interior design experience.

Your new role

You will be an experienced Residential Interior Designer, ideally with team leading or management skills to join a very successful builder to lead a Team of Interior Designers that will provide industry-leading Interior Design experience for each client that achieves exceptional design outcomes, delivers an exceptional experience and delivers on the design brief and budget. You will work closely with the Manager, Project Management to schedule key Interior Design activities into the workflow and oversee each Interior Design project to make sure that the business goal of great homes is achieved.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 6+ years in custom design, high-end homes
• Sketchup, Excel, PowerPoint
• Team leading and management experience
• Conduct an Interior Design Brief with each client to establish their requirements and budget for interiors, joinery, fixtures, materials and finishes for their new home.
• Challenge the client’s ideas and selections then proactively provide professional opinion and guidance to ensure design outcomes are innovative, consistent with industry best practice whilst meeting client brief and budget.
• Develop Interior Design concepts in 3D SketchUp format, material palette and finishes and fittings schedules to meet each client’s design brief and budget.
• Develop preliminary external facades prepared by the Design team into final facades with all materials, finishes and colours selected to meet each client’s design brief and budget.
• Assist clients by attending appointments with them at Bathroom and Appliance showrooms
• Assist clients by coordinating appointments for lifts, window Coverings, furnishings and other providers as required to maximise the quality of the finished home
• Proactively discuss costs with each client throughout each step of the process to ensure that clients at all times understand the likely build cost inclusive of their decisions and selections
• Review in detail the working drawings prepared by the drafting team
• Review in detail the Bathroom and Appliance schedules, Lift quote, Window Coverings proposal and other third-party documents for accuracy, completeness and coordinate with Interior Design drawings
• Accurately and thoroughly document the final design adopted by the client together with any concept sketches, design detail sketches, 3D presentations, detailed Fixtures and Finishes Schedule (that list all fittings, fixtures, materials, finishes and colours) and Tile Schedule.
• Work with the respective Project Manager to ensure exteriors and interiors are thoroughly and accurately documented, presented, and explained to the client and obtain client sign off of the Interior Design Approval
• Assist with the furnishing and presentation of display homes including coordinating with third party furniture rental providers.
