Your new role

The IT Technical Support Officer provides technical and systems support for more than 850 business unit users across a Wide Area Network (WAN) operating environment, including all software, hardware, and smart devices support, based on Windows 10, Office 365 and Android environments.

The position provides a high level of customer service, while liaising with staff at all levels, the position ensures that high levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality are maintained. This involves responding to and resolving first level IT requests according to established procedures, and to maintain agreed service level responses and taking a strong customer-focused view to help resolve requests.

All positions will be required to undertake roles and activities related to Business Continuity and Emergency Management in preparation for and during times of crisis.

What you'll need to succeed

• Monitor the IT Help Desk and on call duties as required.
• Demonstrate a commitment to team philosophy, excellence in customer service and organisational values.
• Clarify the nature of customer needs and then attempt to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Immediately absorb new information and apply it when providing services to customers.
• Provide an effective and timely high level of customer service, support and consultation to all Council’s Information Systems users.
• Clearly communicate instructions and information to customers.
• Manage one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
