Your new role

As the Technical Project Lead, you will have a good understanding of mechatronics, electro-mechanical motion systems, and the ability to bring a product from concept to production, to delivery. This is an exciting position for a talented Senior Engineer looking to diversify their experience and be involved with project and product conception within Defence. Key Responsibilities

• Developing a product from concept to prototype.
• Migration to the production phase.
• Ability to lead and mentor to deliver on customer specifications.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Work collaboratively in a team dealing with various shareholders
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines and resource allocation.
• Effectively managing projects, ensuring project deliverables are met
• Product development from concept through to early production.
• Lead the Systems Engineering and appropriate Verification.
• CAD layout design of key mechanical elements such as the robot frame.
• Management of mechanical, systems and software teams.
• Mechanical design software and document management packages.
• Systems Engineering processes including a Product Development Process (PDP)
• Formal design reviews and phases, requirements management, hazard analysis and V&V.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working in a project lead role delivering a product from concept to prototype.
• Experience with automated electro-mechanical motion systems, plus associated electronics and software control.
• Knowledge of associated electronics and software control systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing a product in defence from concept to prototype and also migrate to a production phase.
• Experience taking commercialised products and taking them into production.
• Strong technical knowledge to be able to develop a mechatronic system to a high TRL working with the customer, and also be able to drive a team to achieve low-rate production (design for manufacture, etc).
• Bachelor or Postgraduate Degree.
• Australian Citizen, eligible for Defence Clearance.
