Your new roleThis is a key role that encompasses a high level of technical capability and leadership to progress the technical maturity and commercialisation of products. The Engineering Technical Lead is the primary technical contributor to the Product Team, collaborating with team members to discover the right products and features to build and deliver those products right, in ways that achieve business objectives. It is also expected that this role will provide technical leadership, support and mentoring across programs and teams as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated mechatronic systems
- Support product discovery through prototyping, simulation and digital engineering.
- Develop innovative and practical designs that solve customer problems and meet requirements.
- Oversee the integration of products into defence systems.
- Manage technical tasks and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful product delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate technical, schedule, and budgetary risks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians.
What you'll need to succeed- Degree qualifications in relevant field
- Proven experience in leading complex projects related to automated mechatronic systems, preferably in the defence industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mechatronics, robotics, automation, and defence technology applications.
- Strong understanding of defence processes, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in contemporary project management methodologies, including Agile.
- Ability to obtain security clearance as required for defence-related projects.
