Your new role
As an Asset and Configuration Lead, you will be responsible for designing and setting up robust configuration management processes and ensuring accurate, consistent, and complete data capture from the outset. You will collaborate closely with technical experts and project stakeholders to configure the system to meet operational requirements, compliance standards, and long-term sustainability goals. You will also play a key role in establishing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), defining lifecycle management for configuration items (CIs), and aligning practices with ITIL and enterprise architecture standards.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic development and enterprise-wide implementation of configuration management frameworks, ensuring alignment with organisational transformation goals and IT governance standards.
  • Architect and embed foundational configuration management capabilities that enable scalable, future-ready service delivery and underpin the success of enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives.
  • Design and operationalise enterprise-grade configuration management processes that ensure strategic data integrity, support compliance, and enable informed decision-making across the organisation.
  • Partner with senior technical leaders and strategic stakeholders to configure enterprise systems that meet evolving operational, regulatory, and sustainability objectives, ensuring long-term organisational value.
  • Drive the strategic transition of Enterprise Service Management system (ESM) capability to operational teams through targeted enablement programs, ensuring sustainable adoption, uplift in digital maturity, and alignment with enterprise service management strategy.
  • Govern the integrity and strategic utilisation of the CMDB across hybrid environments, ensuring it serves as a trusted source of truth for enterprise asset intelligence and risk-informed planning.
  • Oversee the lifecycle governance of configuration items to support enterprise-wide visibility, operational resilience, and strategic asset optimisation.
  • Lead strategic audits and assurance reviews of the CMDB to uphold data quality, support compliance, and inform executive-level reporting and investment decisions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in configuration and asset management within an IT operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using configuration management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and configuration management tools.
  • Ability to conduct audits and reviews of the CMDB to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and external vendors
