Hays Human Resources - April 2008
Public Sector
Hotspots
There is an ongoing shortage of HR advisors and recruiters at the $70,000 to $90,000 level, mainly on a temporary or fixed-term contract basis.
The coming quarter
Activity in the temporary and contractor market is likely to increase over the quarter as a result of permanent vacancies becoming harder to fill.
Salaries
While the candidate shortage has intensified, the private sector has been able to increase salaries but the public sector has not been able to follow suit.
Candidate trends
A notable decrease in the availability of HR advisors is a result of the higher salaries on offer in the private sector.
