Hotspots

  • Brokers, from account brokers to senior account executives, are in demand. Vacancies are particularly prevalent for tier complied candidates with three years or more account broker experience.
  • Commercial underwriters with three or more year's experience.

The coming quarter

Permanent opportunities are expected to be very high over the coming quarter, with temporary activity focused predominantly in the claims arena in order to reduce backlogs.

Executive recruitment

At the executive level senior insurance managers with a legal background is a hotspot within claims.

Salaries

Salaries are remaining fairly stable, although smaller companies are demonstrating a willingness to pay above average salaries to attract candidates while larger companies are starting to offer slight increases, which could place further pressure on salaries in the market.

Candidate trends

  • There has been a decrease in candidate levels for account executive to senior account executive level, along with underwriters.
  • A large number of university graduates are considering underwriting entry-level roles more than any other insurance roles.
